Letter to the Students
Dear Students,
Welcome back to school. The long summer vacation
should allow you enough time for rest and relaxation
as well as taking up new interests. I sincerely hope
that you are well equipped with new ideas and enhanced
creativity after the break. It is important that you
take up positive learning attitudes and set realistic
goals. Remember that within you there is a capacity
to learn and the ability to excel.
The theme for 2010-2011 is Love
School Love Life in commemorating our 45th
Anniversary. It is a happy occasion for us to give
thanks for all the blessings God has bestowed on all
of us since the establishment of the school. We have
planned a number of celebration events to share our
learning and our joy with guests, parents, Trinitians
and the community.
The 45th Anniversary Open Day will be held on 2nd
and 3rd April 2011, followed by the 45th Anniversary
Thanksgiving Mass and Reunion Dinner on 8th April
2011. Our 45th Anniversary Graduation Ceremony is
scheduled on 21st May 2011 and the Union Day for students
will be held on 4th July 2011.
I trust that all students will be able to make good
use of these learning opportunities embedded in our
45th Anniversary celebrations.
As we name ourselves the TRINITIANS, we should always
call to mind the school motto of Holy Trinity College:
Wisdom
Capacity to seek the truth and
to distinguish good and evil
Charity
Kindness of heart that seeks no reward
Courage
Willingness to take up responsibilities and
Embrace the unknown
Fulfilment
Realization of potentials, mission, and destiny
In the International Forum of School Heads Education
Innovation Talents --- Common Focus in a Multinational
Context organized by our sister school- The High School
Affiliated to Renmin University of China at Beijing
in August 2010, there is a general belief among all
school principals that we need to do our utmost in
educating our young people so that they can help solve
the existing problems of the world. In order to enjoy
the natural resources of the earth and peace among
all nations, we believe that through education we
can provide our youth the knowledge and correct attitude
and develop their potentials
.
I sincerely hope that all of you can enjoy a happy
school life in the year to come when all students
take ownership in their studies and other learning
experiences.
May I wish you all a successful year!

Letter to the Students
Dear Students,
Welcome back to school. I trust that
you are well relaxed and have learned new interests
after the long summer vacation. I sincerely hope that
you are well equipped with new ideas and enhanced
creativity after the break. It is important that you
take up positive learning attitudes and set realistic
goals. Remember that there is contained in you a capacity
to learn and the ability to excel.
The theme for 2009-2010 is SMART Goals
and Self-regulated Learning. You are reminded of the
importance in taking charge of your own learning.
In order to become successful learners, you must monitor
and control your behaviour as you set goals and manage
your study time. A calendar will be you best friend,
get one and get organized. Mark all important dates,
tests, papers due, study time. Prioritize! It is essential
to make use of your prior learning in the pursuit
of knowledge.
All students are expected to make
good use of their learning opportunity in our school
using English as the medium of instruction by speaking
in English with their teachers and schoolmates.

As we name ourselves the TRINITIANS,
we should always call to mind the school motto of
Holy Trinity College:

I sincerely hope that all of you will
do your share to keep the school a hygienic and healthy
learning place. With the support from our teachers
and your co-operation, I am quite sure that we all
can enjoy a happy school life in the year to come.

December 2008
Principal’s Message
by Mrs. Jane Or
Christmas Greetings to you all!
Last December, I had the opportunity
to learn the way of implementing Life Education in
Catholic schools from teachers in Taiwan. I was deeply
impressed by the installation of a Manger in each
of their school premises. In particular, the students’
enthusiastic involvement in extending Christmas blessings
to their schools, families and their communities was
remarkable.
This December, we have elaborated
on the idea and set up our own Manger with great support
from students, the visual art teacher, our pastoral
care worker and one of our janitors. The beautiful
Manger shows creativity and talents of the people
involved and the symbolic image of the Manger is fully
internalized by the whole student body with their
promise to commit a good deed in celebration of the
birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are happy to engulf
ourselves in the spirit of sharing and love in our
harmonious school life.
Such loving and caring traits exhibited
among our Trinitians are no coincidence. In the Internal
Prize-giving Ceremony held in October of year 2008,
the President of our Past Students’ Association, Dr.
Eva Lui shared her research findings on Qualities
of Trinitians with the congregation. She found out
that the most popular jobs taken by Trinitians belong
to “The Caregivers” category. These caregivers possess
qualities that match with the good virtues in our
Trinitians. These virtues include:
· Loyalty: Love in action
· Perseverance : Follow things through to completion
· Sociability: Enjoy interacting with people
· Empathy : Warm-heartedness
· Consideration: Put others' needs above their own
· Cooperativeness: Good teamwork
The challenge to our teachers of the 21st century
is how to train and nurture students to ensure that
they have those qualities of their Alumni Trinitians.
In a high-tech society when everyone is overwhelmingly
concerned with making the biggest profit in investment,
school and family have taken a different direction
to convince our youngsters that a fulfilling life
is more than just making money. While we are reinforcing
our academic abilities at school, we should also devote
time to foster other learning experiences. The real
satisfaction in life is to give rather than to take.
That is to say, if we are generous with our time and
effort to answer the call for volunteer work, then
we will draw out the good qualities embedded in ourselves
and be able to enjoy real happiness in life.
“We all know that Christmas is not just for one day;
it is for the whole year. Learning to live each day
with patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness
and self-giving – this is the true gift of Christmas.
May we commit ourselves anew to the daily challenge
of passing on the gift of Christmas to our families,
our communities and our world.”*
May you all enjoy the true joy of Christmas and be
a blessing to others!

1st January 2008
Dear Students,
Welcome back to school after our Christmas
and New Year Holidays! I wish you all a healthy and
fruitful year to come!
This is indeed a time for celebration. I have been
receiving good news about our students taking part
and winning prizes in external competitions. Students
involved have put in effort and their good work is
being recognized. Congratulations to all the winners
in the 59th Hong Kong Schools Music & Speech Festival
and members of Steam Ahead (a Junior Achievement Company
of the F.6 students participating in the Company Programme
2007-8), and special thanks should go to all the teachers
and volunteers who have devoted so much of their time
in coaching students after school hours.
Congratulations to winners in various inter-school
sports events, in particular our Cross Country Team
and Table Tennis Team (A-grade). I am certain that
this is the result of continuous effort of all members
and their perseverance is fully displayed in the matches
and the competitions. For individual awards, I would
like to commend the three girl guides on winning the
Chief Commissioner’s Guide Award. They are recognized
for their outstanding leadership and perseverance
in their learning and service to the community.
I would like to take this opportunity to announce
to you that the School Supervisor Sr. Dominica So,
Principal Mrs. Jane Or, together with the Guidance
Mistress Miss Celia Check and Pastoral Care Worker
Mrs. Irene Lee have completed the Life Education Exchange
Trip to Taiwan from 27th to 31st December 2007. The
exchange and learning provide us a check of our own
performance in religious and life education and offer
an opportunity for better achievement.
Let us set goals of self-regulated learning in 2008
and carry out our plans accordingly. We should also
maintain our good practice of speaking in English
within school time. We should give ourselves an opportunity
to enhance our spoken English by practising at school.
May I wish you all a successful year in 2008!

This is indeed a time for celebration. I have been
receiving good news about our students taking part
and winning prizes in external competitions. Students
involved have put in effort and their good work is
being recognized. Congratulations to all the winners
in the 58th Hong Kong Schools Music & Speech Festival
and members of Amour-Chaud (a JA Company of the F.6
students participating in the Company Programme 2006-7),
and special thanks should go to all the teachers and
volunteers who have devoted so much of their time
in coaching students after school hours.
Congratulations to winners in various inter-school
sports events, in particular our Basketball Team of
A grade (Division 2) Kowloon and our Cross Country
Team. The final basketball match was really an exciting
game to watch and the players of both teams gave their
best performance. I am certain that this is the result
of continuous effort of all members and their perseverance
is fully displayed in the matches and the competitions.
I would like to take this opportunity to announce
to you that our school will undergo an External School
Review by the Quality Assurance Division of Education
and Manpower Bureau in January 2007. A team of five
external school reviewers will visit our school and
they will observe lessons, shadow students and conduct
meetings with school personnel, students and parents.
The opportunities for self-evaluation embedded in
the External School Review provide us a thorough check
of our own performance in different aspects, and offer
a springboard to better achievement. All our students
are ambassadors of the school and your warmth in receiving
guests will give people a good impression, and through
your words and deeds, people will know how well we
are doing in learning and witness your character formation.
Try your best to make our guests feel at home and
do your utmost to be true Trinitians!
Let us also maintain our good practice of speaking
in English within school time. We should give ourselves
an opportunity to enhance our spoken English by practising
at school.
May I wish you all a successful year in 2007!
